Truthfully, the words “great news from the ACP” are not words that I hear very often. The ACP is now inspecting pharmacies that have applied for a compounding and repackaging license before they are allowed to sell compounded product to other pharmacies. This means that these pharmacies must be fully compliant with all priorities towards compliance with the compounding standards in Alberta.
Those compounding pharmacies that are already compliant with these standards already know that compliance is not easy and not for the faint of heart. It is an investment both in time and resources, but compliance ensures that compounded products are prepared safely, by trained compounders, in a compliant facility.
So this is indeed Great News for compounding in Alberta. Keep it coming, ACP!
